#1: Find If There Is Kinguser or SuperSU Icon on Your Phone

If you have rooted your Android device, you’ll be able to see Kinguser or Superuser icon. Kinguser and Superuser are the apps that manage your root access; they are getting installed while rooting the smartphone.

#2: Check If Phone Is Rooted or Not with Root Checker

  1. Open Google Play on your device, search Root Checker app
  2. Download and install it on your Android phone.
  3. Open the installed Root Checker app, click “ROOT”. How to check if your phone has been rooted or not
  4. Tap on “Verify Root” once the app has determined the model of your phone.

It should only take a few moments for the app to determine the root access status of your phone. Once it knows, a message will be displayed, clearly stating if you have or don’t have root access.

#3: Use Terminal Emulator app to Know If a Cell Phone Is Rooted

The Terminal Emulator app has been designed to give users a complete Linux terminal emulator on Android devices.

It’s a good way to practice using commands, or to make full use of various commands enabled on rooted phones.

  1. Go to Play Store on your device
  2. Tap the search bar and type “Terminal Emulator”
  3. Download and install the app on your phone
  4. Open the Terminal Emulator app
  5. If you see “#”, then the phone has root access.

If there’s “$” instead of “#”, then your phone is still not in superuser mode, but it doesn’t mean it’s not rooted. In the terminal window, type “su” and then tap either Search or Enter and if the device won’t recognize it, it signifies the phone is not rooted yet.
