How to Pin Comments on Instagram Posts

The Instagram’s pinned comments is one of the numerous features Instagram has rolled out to help users have better control and feel safe on the platform anytime they upload a picture or a video. This feature was announce via twitter few months ago.

This feature allows a user to pin up to three comments on a single post. This feature is available for everyone in the new update, all you need to do is to just update your instagram app. In this post I will explain to you how you can be able to pin comments on your Instagram posts.

How to Pin Comments on Instagram Posts

  1. Open the Instagram app and go to one of your posts.
  2. Scroll through the comments until you find one you want to feature at the top.
  3. Swipe left on the comment then tap the thumbtack icon.
  4. Instagram will give you a brief run-down of how pinned comments work and ask if you want to pin the comment and
  5. Tap “Pin Comment.”

The comment will now be at the top of the comments thread. You can repeat this for up to three pinned comments. The pinned comment will stay at the top of the comments thread, intending to make it easier for you to monitor the tone and content of your comments section.

Note that once you pin a user’s comment, the user will be notified that their comment is pinned.

If you want to unpin a comment on your Instagram post, simply swipe again, tap the thumbtack icon, and remove it. However, this doesn’t delete or hide the comment in the comments thread.

We can’t say for sure whether Instagram pinned comments will actually reduce comments toxicity, but it can at least keep arguments and trolls a little more buried.
